17,000 more men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer that will not be cured. 17,000 more men will be dead sooner or later. 17,000 more men according to CBS news, will indeed be maggots food and returning to the ground from whence they came. 17,000 hapless souls will leave their families to mourn, to be grieved and probably to suffer the loss of a father, a brother and importantly, a breadwinner. Back in May of 2012 the US Preventative Service Task Force (USPSTF) laid the ground work for this despicable and almost genocidal act. See My Response To PSA Screening. This feature of incongruence by this organization which had been exposed as jumping off a gallows has now brought the chickens home to roost and for the unfortunate men who took the poison, their premature demise is inevitable.
Prostate cancer and its payload of death, is like the death horse of revelation that will kill all those who have not taken heed. Sufficiently said, by the time the hapless hears the galloping hooves, it would have been too late. A slow and agonizing death shall be your lot.
I have been fortunate to be a survivor and most blessed indeed. However I cannot overemphasized that this blessing did not fall out of the sky. Had it not been the fact that I had regular check ups with my doctor, and of course PSA tests, I would have been on the wrong side of the statistics.
The inglorious nature of the male sex to be pompous, and peacock-like in demeanor, the hardheadedness about little things like going to the doctor once every 12 months, the old wife’s tale about loosing your manhood after a prostatectomy, and Dancehall reggae and Rap music from Jamaican Patra to Misdemeanor Elliott instilling through graphic lyrics that a man must be a bed room bully or suffer being feathered and tarred if he isn’t… still continue to be a boulder in the way of men’s health.
I have other opinions as to the governance of good health and the proper foundations for such as expressed in THE REAL REASONS WE DIE (PART 1) and THE REAL REASONS WE DIE (Part 2). A man might have less control over these situations or I might say immediate control, as he has to rely on the system to some extent. In this war of having and maintaining good health, knowledge is of exceptional importance and value. Knowledge of what makes you sick and hence how to avoid them, and knowledge of what to do to prevent them from killing you.
Failure to harm oneself with these weapons will cause your fortitude to diminish and your wakened state will not to be able to answer the bell for the next round. While we are waiting to be cured of diseases, it is a fact that we continue to fall. In this situation we need ledges along the way so that we do not crash on the unforgiving ground like Humpy Dumpy. I sit in this position as a prostate cancer survivor, because I used those ledges. I know of others who have not used the ledges of the simple acts of getting checked once every year. Those are now dead.
If 17,000 more will die because of the false ledge erected by this body that says PSA screening is nonsense, and who have not listened to the better side of reasoning by other bodies such as LUGPA (Large Urology Group Practice Association) it means there is much more education work to be done.
I take a lot of credit and pride in what I am doing to educate us. I am tremendously encouraged by the comments of people that I have touched such as this one by WFJ:
Commenting on ONE MINUTE MAN, a previous blog, WFJ (Wefreelaw@verizon.net) 11/01/2012 3:09pm:
"Your efforts to get the message out to family, friends, and followers is awesome and awe inspiring. Your encouragement to have your "junk" checked made a huge personal difference to me. My cancer was caught early and the surgery was a complete success. All the best, my friend. Keep up the good work".
WFJ is a prominent Philadelphia lawyer who has survived by the one single act of getting himself checked.
I will close this piece by telling a story which goes like this. A young boy being grown by his grandmother in Mason Hall, Jamaica had the temerity to take some sugar from the jar bottle. As he slobbered it over his mouth and its neighboring cheeks, the evidence was apparent to everyone except this little boy. His grandmother asked him “boy! Did you take some of the sugar from the pan?” “No granny” he replied. Thereupon his grandmother said “Boy, you cannot fool me. Look at you hiding the monkey in a mouse hole!”
That lesson that was taught to me probably enabled me to own up to the issues and precipitated my character to deal with the obvious. One man dies every nineteen minutes from prostate cancer. Not recognizing this fact and dealing with it could mean for us men, that we are hiding the monkey in a mouse hole. please... do not continue to hide a monkey in a mouse hole as you will not be happy, when the chickens come home.
